Founder and Head Coach, Jason Covarrubias, has over 18 years of coaching experience in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Covarrubias, a graduate (2002) and member of the Dallas Baptist University's cross country and track teams (2000-2002), began his coaching career at Cedar Hill High School. He remained with the Longhorns for nine years and led them to five-5A UIL Regional berths. After leaving the High School ranks, Coach Covarrubias began cross country and track programs at Arlington Baptist College (Arlington, TX) and Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Waxahachie, TX).
Coach Jason Covarrubias experienced various levels of success since the transitioning from high school to college. In 2012, Covarrubias led the Arlington Baptist Patriots to the program's only National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Cross Country Championship. In 2015, Coach Covarrubias and Destiny Garza (Houston, TX) returned to the NCCAAs and claimed the 10,000m Outdoor Track National Championship title. Two weeks later, the duo captured the program's first NAIA National Championship, as Garza won the Marathon with the time of 3:03:31.
Since 2016, Coach Jason Covarrubias has coached eleven athletes in the Marathon at the NAIA Outdoor Track National Championships, included in that number is the 2018 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) 10,000m National Champion, Robert Herrera.
